Benito Juárez collection, 1859-1861.

Consists of photocopies of handwritten correspondence to and from Benito Juárez and the following persons: Ignacio Zaragoza, commander of the Juarista troops; Jesus B. Ortega, general; and Francisco Alatorre, general, between the years of 1859 and 1861. The correspondence, which is all in Spanish, was translated by Frank Duggan, a linguist and volunteer worker for the UTEP Library, and then transcribed by typewriter.
